Our puppies will be all microshiped , have their full vaccination and their parents will be all tested for these following problems :

**** Hips Dysplasia : There are many factors, including genetics, environment and nutrition that contribute to this deformity of the hip joint. Most of the afflicted pugs are able to lead normal, healthy lives even with the problem, unlike some of the large and giant breeds, who require surgery to get around easily. The X rays will be done by our vet, Dr Frederic treuil and will be sent to the official vet recommeended by the French pug club, and be scored by him.

**** HEMI-VERTEBRAE: This is a condition involving deformed vertebrae or bones of the spine. It is seen in all of the short-faced breeds like our pugs. Some animals will have a few odd vertebrae and be completely normal. Others will start having problems between 4 and 6 months of age. The puppy may have a staggering, uncoordinated, weak gait. Some puppies get progressively worse and some actually become paralyzed. All our staff will be X-Rayed By our vet Dr Frederic Treuil.

**** LUXATING PATELLAS - This involves the stifle or knee joint of many of the toy breeds and even some larger ones. When the kneecap is out, the dog may limp and carry the leg. The dog can often stretch his leg back and pop the patella back in himself. Some dogs are normal when young and develop this with age. Many dogs live their lives with this but some require surgery to deepen the groove and reposition the patella so it stays in place. One or both legs may be affected. The x rays will be done by our vet as well and will be sent to specialist recommended by the french pug club in order to be scored under the club sheme.

**** Eyes problems : All the test will be done By Dr Chaudieu a famous specialist in the eyes problem like PRA CPRA and others or some blood sample will be sent to OPTGEN for a DNA TEST.

Of course we do wish to breed very nice pugs, but producing an healthy pug will be always more important than producing a champion. Honesty is more important than some cup on the fireplace!!!! Of course we will not use an afflicted or a carrier dog eveb if it's always difficult and sad not to use a very nice dog.
